Intervention and Transaction Dynamics in Sino-US AI Competition
2026-11-05 20:58:39
According to CoinMeta, recent competition between China and the United States in the field of artificial intelligence has become increasingly fierce. Although the tariff truce will last until January next year, both governments are still actively intervening in more AI and technology transactions. 1. A $2 billion deal between Meta and Manus AI was ordered to be canceled by Beijing in April due to concerns about the flow of AI talent and technology to the United States. 2. A $5.4 billion deal between SoftBank and ABB's robotics unit was blocked by Beijing on November 5th due to fears that Chinese robotics data could be used to train overseas AI models. 3. A $7 billion deal between Oracle and Tencent was cancelled due to concerns from U.S. officials; Tencent had originally agreed to lease 100,000 advanced AI chips. 4. NVIDIA recently required its cloud partners to limit the capacity for Chinese customers to 49%.
