According to CoinMeta, it was learned from Qinghai Branch of China Huadian Group Co., Ltd. that Unit 1 of the 2×660 megawatt coal-fired power project in Golmud, Qinghai Huadian, officially started generating electricity on November 5th. This project has overcome several technical bottlenecks in high-altitude coal-fired power generation, filling a technological gap in the industry and providing support for stable regional energy supply and large-scale consumption of new energy. The project is located in Golmud City, Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with an average altitude of about 2,850 meters. With a total investment of approximately 6.3 billion yuan, it involves the construction of two 660 megawatt ultra-supercritical indirect air-cooled extraction condensing coal-fired units. Once the project reaches full capacity, it will be able to generate 6 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, sufficient to meet the annual electricity needs of about 6.6 million residents.
