According to CoinMeta, six companies including Wells Fargo, Cisco, and Marvell Technology have expressed opposition to the tokenized stock trading platforms planned by OKX and ICE. According to the latest announcement released by OKXICE TSV on Friday, the total number of opposing companies has increased to 22, up from 16 on October 19th and 9 on October 15th. Early opponents included Microsoft, Alphabet, Morgan Stanley, Verizon, Broadcom, and UnitedHealth Group. The announcement did not explain the reasons for these companies' opposition, nor did it clarify the impact of the opposition on the trading of stocks on the platform. OKXICE TSV is a 50-50 joint venture between Intercontinental Exchange, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, and OKX American Holdings, which plans to allow approved users to trade tokenized U.S. stocks 24/7. Trading will be conducted through the XLayer liquidity pool on OKX's XLayer blockchain, paired with stablecoins such as USDC. The platform will operate under an innovative exemption granted by SEC, which introduced this exemption in September.
