According to CoinMeta, and as reported by ITHome, Microsoft once offered $800 million to Netflix in pursuit of the exclusive film and television adaptation rights for XBOX's games for a period of 7 years. Foreign media outlet Puck cited sources familiar with the matter, stating that Netflix initially offered $500 million, but Microsoft demanded an increase to $800 million, and no agreement was ultimately reached. XBOX stated that there is a record level of interest from external parties in collaborating with them regarding their game intellectual property rights, and Netflix is an important partner. The animated series based on their games "Minecraft" and "Diablo" are set to be launched soon. Netflix refused to comment on this matter, and XBOX has since turned to seeking smaller-scale deals with more partners.
