Trump Plans to Eliminate 50% Tariffs on Some Canadian Goods

According to CoinMeta, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, the Trump administration plans to eliminate the 50% tariffs on certain Canadian agricultural and forestry products, which could be announced as early as Friday local time. However, the specific scope and timing may still be subject to adjustment. At the same time, the United States may raise tariffs on other Canadian goods to offset this tariff reduction in light of the upcoming mid-term elections. At the end of August, Trump imposed a 50% tariff on approximately $20 billion worth of Canadian goods. Last month, the U.S. exempted some of these goods, but continued to impose tariffs on others, with the total trade affected remaining largely unchanged. White House officials stated that any official tariff decisions will be announced by the government.
