SK Hynix Abandons Solidigm US IPO Plan, Possibly Benefiting Micron Technology and SanDisk

According to CoinMeta, the team of analyst KC Rajkumar from LYNX Equity Strategies stated that SK Hynix' abandonment of its plan for the initial public offering (IPO) of its Solidigm business in the United States could be beneficial for Micron Technology and Sandisk. The reason is that this decision reduces the risk of future global NAND flash memory supply surplus. The firm noted that Solidigm originally planned to raise funds through an IPO in the U.S. to support the expansion of NAND manufacturing capacity in the country. Potential projects might have been jointly developed by SK SK Hynix and Intel, with locations including Intel's facilities in Ohio. The additional production capacity is expected to enter the market in three years or longer, which could increase global NAND supply and drive down prices. With the cancellation of the IPO plan, these related expansion projects lose a potential source of financing, which helps to alleviate market concerns about future capacity growth. LYNX believes that this is generally a positive development for the product pricing and valuation of Micron and Sandisk, but the current market environment may limit the potential for stock price increases. Intel, on the other hand, could be slightly negatively affected due to the loss of potential manufacturing projects.
