According to CoinMeta, Chris Williamson, the chief business economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence, stated that preliminary PMI data for October indicate that the U.S. economy continued to prosper at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The survey results are in line with a trend of GDP annual growth of 5%, whereas growth was previously estimated to be 4% for the third quarter. Corporate earnings and profits were particularly strong, with companies expanding production capacity to meet stronger customer demand, and recruitment activities also increased significantly. Excluding the factors of economic restart after the pandemic, the growth achieved by U.S. companies in recent months has reached its best level since the beginning of 2015. However, cost pressures remain a major concern, especially as rising crude oil prices affect various goods and services. Supply chain bottlenecks have intensified, and backlogs of orders continue to rise, making it easier for companies to pass on higher costs to consumers. Sales prices have seen the steepest increase in four years, and consumer price inflation may further exceed the Federal Reserve's target levels in the coming months.
