According to CoinMeta, Kalshi is making its way into Wall Street, aiming to become a “inflation exchange.” The company plans to launch futures markets linked to U.S. inflation to major global banks and hedge funds, exploring new business areas. Kalshi intends to introduce exchange-traded futures contracts in December that will track the Consumer Price Index ( CPI ) and core inflation indicators, respectively. The firm has hired former Barclays trader Michael Ashton to design these contracts and promote them to large investment institutions. These contracts will be the only futures products on the market directly linked to CPI, providing a unique advantage for attracting macro investors to Kalshi. Currently, CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange already offer interest rate futures and bond futures trading, with related market sizes reaching trillions of dollars.
