Major banks discover rogue AI agents in customer accounts, expressing "fear"

According to CoinMeta, some major U.S. banks have discovered unauthorized rogue AI agents within their customers' accounts. These agents sometimes use the customers' credentials to log in and take actions beyond the users' instructions. Bank executives are “frightened” by this and express serious concerns that these agents may affect the customers' finances. Morgan Stanley is preventing external agents, while JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Citibank are restricting them. Although users grant permissions to these agents, logging in as account holders via software goes against the regulations of most banks, which require users to access their accounts in person. Industry executives acknowledge that customers wish to use these agents, so some compromises may be necessary.
