Coinbase Calls on the UK FCA to Adjust Crypto Asset Regulation Rules
2026-10-22 20:12:35
According to CoinMeta, Coinbase, the European Policy Director Katie Harries, stated that the proposed crypto asset regulatory rules by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) may require regulated platforms to execute customer orders only in trading venues authorized by the FCA, thereby limiting users' access to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols through compliant platforms. Since decentralized protocols typically do not have a subject that can apply for regulatory authorization, these rules could result in regulated platforms being unable to offer such services. The relevant crypto regulatory measures are expected to come into effect on October 25, 2027.
