Haseeb Qureshi: Global Cybersecurity is Facing a Wave of Hacker Attacks
2026-10-22 10:19:30
According to CoinMeta, Dragonfly, managing partner of Haseeb Qureshi, stated that global network security is facing a wave of hacker attacks similar to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the crypto industry has been among the first to experience this trend. He believes that since attacks on blockchain networks are the easiest to monetize directly, security incidents in crypto protocols can be seen as an early warning of internet security risks as a whole. Currently, the number of hacker attacks in the crypto industry has increased sharply, but the annualized total amount of funds stolen is roughly comparable to that of 2025, which means that the average loss per attack has decreased. Haseeb pointed out that attackers are focusing on small DEFI protocols with weak security measures and insufficient maintenance, while large protocols have begun to use AI tools to strengthen their defenses. He expects that this trend of large-scale attacks will also spread to the traditional internet industry.
