CoinMeta data: A report from security firm blockaid shows that between January 5 and August 5 of this year, 60 crypto attacks resulted in a total loss of $1.18 billion. Of this amount, only $9.8 million was returned to the victims, $81.4 million was frozen, and $1.04 billion remains unrecouped. Stablecoin issuers' blacklists and exchanges did not intercept any funds that could have been recovered, and these measures were not activated in any of the 16 incidents where a blacklist could have been used. Of the $91.2 million that has been recovered or frozen, 99% came from protocol or blockchain-level measures. The median time for the stolen funds to be transferred was 17 minutes.
