According to CoinMeta, the liquid application of ngrave, a digital hardware wallet manufacturer, has been hijacked by third-party notification services. Attackers sent false alerts to trick users into entering their mnemonic phrases, resulting in the theft of approximately $2.56 million from around 70 wallets across 4 blockchain networks. Of this amount, Bitcoin losses amounted to about $1.77 million, XRP lost about $454,000, Ethereum assets were stolen for about $316,000, and Stellar suffered losses of about $18,000. The zero hardware wallet and private keys of ngrave were not directly compromised; the company has replaced the affected keys and implemented new security measures.
