According to CoinMeta, Musk stated during the third-quarter earnings call on SpaceX that ASML and other major semiconductor manufacturing equipment suppliers have accelerated the delivery of equipment to Tesla's and SpaceX's Terafab chip projects. He noted, "The timeline is very tight, and we are extremely grateful to ASML and all other suppliers for speeding up the delivery of equipment to help us achieve this goal." Terafab is a large-scale chip manufacturing project planned by Musk for Tesla and SpaceX, aimed at meeting the huge demand for AI processors and other chips from both companies, and compensating for the shortcomings of existing suppliers, including TSMC, in the supply of advanced chips. Musk mentioned that the goal for SpaceX is to achieve mass production of chips at the Terafab factory in the third or fourth quarter of 2028.
