According to CoinMeta, as reported by Decrypt, Sam Altman's World company has launched a tool called World ID aimed at helping financial institutions confirm that the individuals behind transactions and customer requests are real people. This tool includes three types of cryptographic proofs: a "Human Proof" that verifies identity through a one-time access to a World device, a "Presence Proof" that uses a mobile phone selfie for liveness detection, and an "Attribute Proof" that verifies nationality or age using government-issued identification documents. These tools will enable banks to require verified human approval for ACH and wire transfers without the need to collect or store personal data. World has also released a AgentKit developer toolkit that allows users to delegate certain proofs to AI agents for transactions. In addition, World ID has integrated with Zoom, and participants can obtain a "Human Badge" after verification in video calls. According to World's data, there are currently over 18 million people who have undergone human identity verification, and World Foundation has raised $52.5 million this year to expand the network.
