According to CoinMeta, Chinese startup StepFun has launched StepX Neo with the support of Tencent. This is a type of smartphone that integrates AI assistant directly into the operating system, rather than as a separate application. The pre-order price is 3,999 yuan (about 560 US dollars), and the first sale event is scheduled for October 16th. Users simply need to specify their destination, and the AI assistant will handle the subsequent steps automatically. StepFun indicates that in the era of AI assistants, AI is no longer just an additional feature of smartphones; it has become the product itself. The company also showcased its self-developed AI system Step AOS 1.0, which features long-term memory, task scheduling, and security control among other capabilities. Step AOS divides smartphone functions into smaller modules that can be directly invoked by the AI assistant. Nearly 100 companies and products, including Alipay, Tencent, Ctrip, Didi, and Meituan, have signed agreements with the AI assistant. The price of 3,999 yuan includes a 12-month StepX token plan, offering 100 billion tokens per month.
