According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coindesk, nine blockchain organizations including quantus, midnight, foundation, and hacken have jointly established quantum alliance. They plan to develop quantum-resistant security standards for networks such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The report states that approximately 6.4 million BTC have had their corresponding public keys made public, and in the future, they may face the risk of their private keys being cracked by quantum computers, including around 1.1 million BTC that are estimated to belong to Satoshi Nakamoto. Currently, no quantum computer possesses the actual capability to carry out such attacks. Alliance members have differing opinions on when the threat is likely to emerge and whether there is a risk of freezing these BTC. Related efforts will focus on advancing blockchain migration, wallet security, zero-knowledge proofs, and cross-chain compatibility standards.
