Osmosis Community: Fluctuating Staking Tokens bosmo Have Contract Vulnerabilities
2026-10-16 11:48:48
According to CoinMeta, as disclosed on the Osmosis community forum, there is a contract vulnerability in the tradable staking token bosmo issued by Backbone Labs. Since April 2026, each redemption has actually resulted in the payment of about 1.676 osmo, which is approximately 50% more than the normal exchange rate of 1.117 osmo. This has led to a dilution of the asset support for remaining holders. To prevent the vulnerability from affecting other holders further, the community fund pool conducted a centralized redemption of 776,000 bosmo tokens on October 10, extracting about 1.3 million osmo tokens in the process, nearly depleting the contract reserves. The community plans to compensate 1,037 accounts with about 40,508 osmo tokens after lifting the staking on October 24 and reminds users to avoid purchasing bosmo or providing liquidity to the relevant fund pool.
