Grayscale: Bitcoin Volatility Has Declined to 43% Over the Past Decade
2026-10-16 02:19:37
According to CoinMeta, Grayscale indicates that the volatility of Bitcoin ($BTC) has decreased over the past decade. With the maturation of the asset, increased liquidity, institutional participation, and strengthened regulation, the actual volatility of Bitcoin has dropped to 43% in the past year, compared to 81% five years ago. This brings its volatility close to that of the components of the S&P 500 index. For investors who are accustomed to holding stocks with higher volatility, the price fluctuations of Bitcoin may not be as daunting as one might imagine.
