Lido integrates four major Layer 2 networks and ETH native staking functions
2026-10-15 19:07:11
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by The Defiant, the liquidity staking protocol Lido has announced the integration of native direct staking features from four major blockchain networks: Arbitrum, Base, Linea, and Optimism into its official staking interface. This feature is supported at the underlying level by the Chainlink cross-chain interoperability protocol (CCIP). Users can directly exchange their ETH for WstETH on their local network without the need to manually transfer it across chains to Ethereum. The ETH deposited by users is redeemed from a local dedicated liquidity pool, with the exchange rate anchored to the official protocol ratio set by Chainlink rather than the secondary market price. The deposited ETH is automatically transferred across chains to Ethereum to participate in staking via Lido, and the liquidity within the pool is replenished through the CCIP cross-chain bridge by each respective L2 network.
