According to CoinMeta, as announced by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission on October 15th, Australia will implement a new digital asset regulatory framework on April 8, 2027, which will bring digital asset trading platforms and tokenized custody platforms under the supervision of financial services licenses. Relevant platforms will be required to apply for or change their Australian Financial Services licenses and comply with regulatory requirements regarding customer information disclosure, asset custody, transaction settlement, and net tangible assets. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has released Consultation Paper No. 392 to seek feedback on the specific implementation standards, with the deadline being November 27th. It has been reported that more than 140 license applications related to digital asset financial services have been received so far, with over 110 of them submitted during the regulatory transition period from October 2025 to September 2026.
