Standard Chartered Bank delays its forecast for the global stablecoin market size to 2030
2026-10-15 10:28:04
CoinMeta data: According to The Block, Standard Chartered's global digital assets research director Geoffrey Kendrick has postponed the forecast for the global stablecoin market size to reach $2 trillion from 2028 to 2030, due to a continuous stagnation in the growth of stablecoin supply. However, stablecoin usage activities are still increasing, with the average monthly on-chain transaction volume approaching $10 trillion since 2026, higher than $4 trillion in 2025. The average monthly turnover rate has risen from 45 times last year to about 80 times, while USDT remains at around 7 times. Kendrick believes that the current growth stagnation is mainly a cyclical phenomenon of the market, rather than a decline in structural demand. In the future, regulatory policies and competition among banks issuing stablecoins will become important influencing factors.
