According to CoinMeta, the French government plans to impose an exit tax on tax residents who hold more than 800,000 euros in crypto assets, which applies to residents moving out of France, including cryptocurrencies held on exchanges. Legislators also wish to consider the conversion of cryptocurrencies into stablecoins as taxable sales, with the measures expected to take effect from January 1, 2027. These two measures have been approved by the National Parliament's Finance Committee but need to be resubmitted during the budget discussion at the plenary session on October 13.
