CoinMeta data: The overall profits of the S&P 500 index are expected to grow by about 31% compared to last year. U.S. semiconductor companies are projected to see a profit growth of around 136% in the third quarter, which is lower than the 158% in the second quarter. Tajinder Dhillon, the head of earnings and equity research at LSEG, stated that the technology industry, as well as Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta Platforms, will account for two-thirds of the index's earnings. Despite the slowdown in growth, the growth rate of chip manufacturers is still several times that of the index. Samsung expects its operating profit in the third quarter to reach 107.4 trillion won (about 80.2 billion US dollars), which is slightly higher than analysts' forecast of 106.1 trillion won, marking Samsung's fourth consecutive quarter of record-breaking profits.
