According to CoinMeta, the U.S. government transferred approximately $1 billion worth of Bitcoin from the Bitfinex theft case to unmarked wallets. On Thursday, 12,267 Bitcoins (valued at about $1.01 billion) held in one wallet were sent to a new address, with almost all of the Bitcoins ending up in a new unmarked address, while the second transaction was transferred to another address. The Arkham tag indicates that these two transactions were marked as spent, meaning that the coins have been transferred again. In 2022, the government confiscated approximately 94,000 Bitcoins from Ilya Lichtenstein and Heather Morgan. The Arkham tag refers to this confiscation.
