AI Cryptographic risks put lattice-based encryption under pressure

According to CoinMeta, the mathematical progress driven by AI may challenge the assumptions of lattice-based cryptography, but no breakthroughs have yet been made. Analyst Yash points out that hash signatures may provide an alternative in feasible situations, including the methods favored by Ethereum's streamlined roadmap. Unused addresses may reduce the exposure of signatures, but hasty wallet migrations also carry their own risks. AI could change the calculation of cryptographic risks faster than expected. The warnings are not meant to cause panic or to urge people to transfer funds to new wallets immediately, but they do subject lattice-based cryptography to a more critical examination. The concern is that the accelerated mathematical research AI may expose weaknesses in systems that many currently consider secure, including ML-DSA, fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), and lattice-based cryptography. Yash emphasizes that current security assessments should not be taken as set in stone, especially in the context mentioned in Vitalik Buterin's X-post.
