According to CoinMeta, El Salvador's National Bitcoin Office disclosed that the country's Bitcoin reserves have increased to 7,798 coins, worth over $643 million, and they are still implementing a strategy of adding one Bitcoin per day. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a $1.4 billion credit arrangement for El Salvador, but requires it to stop purchasing Bitcoin directly. The IMF's First Deputy Managing Director stated that, aside from recorded donations, El Salvador is not expected to continue increasing its Bitcoin holdings.
