2026-10-09 02:20:23
According to CoinMeta, recent attacks on Korean financial institutions have revealed how hackers are using AI technology to carry out crimes more quickly. A survey conducted on October 7th by CrowdStrike found that attackers left traces of AI to assist in the hacking attacks, raising concerns that the impact could spread throughout the financial system, not just to the affected banks. According to the report, seven banks were attacked: Shinhan Bank reported 25,727 leaked records, KB National Bank reported 119, Hanil Bank recorded 89, and BNK Busan Bank reported data of 11 outsourced developers. Regulatory authorities have ordered security inspections of approximately 500 companies.
