OpenCode Launches OpenTunnel: Mobile Phones Can Now Be Used to Remotely Access AI Tools on Computers
2026-10-08 18:07:57
According to CoinMeta, co-founder Dax Raad of OpenCode has launched an open-source internal network penetration tool called OpenTunnel. This tool can generate public network HTTPS links for websites running on computers, as well as API or OpenCode services. After users run OpenCode at home, they can access these services via mobile phones while out, continuing to manage their AI programming tasks without the need to configure public network IP or router port forwarding. OpenTunnel uses end-to-end encryption, with the HTTPS private key stored on the user's computer, ensuring that traffic is not decrypted before reaching the local device. The tool also provides SDK, allowing developers to incorporate public network access functionality into their own applications. Although a public network link is not equivalent to a private connection, anyone can attempt to access the public URL; therefore, sensitive services still require identity authentication settings.
