According to CoinMeta, Hong Kong Financial Services and Treasury Bureau Chief Hsu Cheng-yu stated that Hong Kong plans to submit a draft regulation amendment within 2026 to establish a licensing system for virtual asset trading and custody. In addition, Hong Kong's Central Gold Clearing and Settlement System will be officially launched in the first quarter of 2027, and the Hong Kong Exchange will announce details of new gold futures contracts denominated in Renminbi and settled in physical form within 2026.
