According to CoinMeta, Coinbase has collaborated with Microsoft to combat the AI phishing platform eviltokens, which exploited AI to bypass multi-factor authentication. Between October 2025 and June 2026, eviltokens profited approximately $1.1 million through 4 Tron addresses. Relevant evidence led to the seizure of 50 websites and the suspension of over 175 associated domain names. The Metropolitan Police Department in the UK arrested the operators on September 11 and seized digital equipment. Coinbase accounts were not affected; some customers were induced to transfer funds to fraudulent addresses.
