According to CoinMeta and reports from Zhitong Finance, Standard & Poor's Global has warned that as Korean companies participate in the large-scale data center construction part of what are known as the "three major super projects," their investment burden is expected to increase significantly, which may further put pressure on their corporate credit ratings. On the 21st, S&P stated in a report that it expects South Korea's data center investment to reach about $900 billion over the next decade, with telecom operators and other participating companies significantly expanding their data center operations. However, at the same time, the investment burden on these companies will increase rapidly, potentially putting pressure on their credit profiles. S&P Global pointed out that in order to minimize the impact on credit ratings, Korean companies are likely to adopt structures such as asset securitization and project financing, similar to those used in overseas data center construction projects. Nevertheless, a significant increase in capital expenditures is still inevitable. According to statistics from market research firm 451, South Korea currently accounts for only 2.5% of the data center market in the Asia-Pacific region, indicating a relatively small scale.
