XRP Ledger (XRPL) is expanding its applications from cross-border payments to tokenized assets and AI payments. Recent developments show that some tokenized US stocks are now natively tradable on XRPL, and XRP and RLUSD are also being used in automated settlement scenarios with AI agents.
XRPL's tokenized US stock listing
The report mentions that Trenik is pushing for the trading of tokenized US stocks on XRPL, with new assets including wSPCX, linked to SpaceX, and other related assets such as Tesla and Nvidia also launching simultaneously. The article states that demand for such products is rising, especially among investors looking to gain exposure to US stocks through offshore crypto markets.
Unlike traditional stock exchanges, assets on XRPL can be traded 24/7 peer-to-peer, without fixed opening and closing times. The article also mentions that XRPL employs a non-custodial model, where users control their wallets and private keys, rather than entrusting their assets to brokerages or centralized platforms.
As tokenized finance expands, these assets may also be used as collateral or integrated into DeFi applications. However, the report did not disclose more specific product structures, issuance arrangements, or compliance details.
XRP and RLUSD enter AI proxy settlement.
In addition to tokenized assets, XRPL is also venturing into AI-driven online payments. Technology company t54 recently announced that merchants and autonomous AI agents can now use XRP and RLUSD to complete payment settlements through its x402 Facilitator.
According to the report, AI agents can use this to independently purchase APIs, cloud computing resources, digital subscriptions, and data services, with related transactions completed near instantaneously on XRPL. The article defines this scenario as part of the machine-to-machine payment infrastructure.
The report also mentioned that the system already supports Mastercard's Verifiable Intent standard. This standard is used to cryptographically prove that the AI agent has obtained payment authorization and to perform risk checks before settlement.
Developer funding will be promoted in parallel.
Ecosystem expansion is also accompanied by developer incentives. XRPL Commons has launched three funding programs for open-source contributors, startups, and strategic ecosystem integration projects.
The article states that this initiative aims to accelerate the development of new applications, infrastructure, and financial products on XRPL. By combining tokenized stocks, AI-native payments, and developer funding, XRPL is attempting to move from a single payment network to a more comprehensive digital financial infrastructure.
