Innatera launches a neuromorphic developer program and provides a new developer portal and evaluation hardware on DigiKey.

This neuromorphic computing company stated that developers can now obtain hardware, software, and technical support to build innovative neuromorphic applications. The program integrates the new hardware with existing evaluation hardware. The hardware is currently available for purchase in the European Union through a designated channel, and it is expected to be extended to more countries by the end of 2026. Building on previously announced plans, this launch provides engineers, researchers, and enthusiasts with the tools and resources needed to develop, test, and deploy neuromorphic applications.

This plan supports development based on Pulsar. Pulsar is the latest pulse neural processor from Innatera, designed to bring ultra-low power intelligence directly to where sensor data is collected. Its applications include human presence detection, keyword recognition, audio scene classification, as well as predictive maintenance for consumer and industrial equipment.

Innatera CEO Sumeet Kumar stated: "Neuromorphic computing will continue to advance through what developers build with it. Our responsibility is to hand this technology over to them along with tools that they can use with confidence. By combining evaluation hardware with familiar software workflows, technical guidance, and a developer community, we are helping more engineers move from experiments to applications that can solve real-world challenges."

Developer Portal serves as the central hub of this initiative, providing software, documentation, application examples, community discussions, and support. It offers access to Innatera SDK, which comprises two complementary components: Talamo for AI application development and compilation, and Spine for embedded development, with execution taking place on Pulsar.

Leveraging Talamo and the integration of Python's workflow with PyTorch, developers can build sensor processing pipelines, train neural networks, and simulate applications before deploying them to hardware. The Talamo application compiler converts these pipelines into embedded applications, while Spine provides the embedded toolchain and firmware required to run on Pulsar. Together, these tools simplify the path from model development to device-side evaluation.

In addition to the portal, developers in the EU region can also purchase Pulsar evaluation hardware through DigiKey. Supply in other countries will be expanded in phases. This hardware consists of two complementary circuit boards:

  • IgnisCore is a processing module that integrates Pulsar, USB for programming and debugging, on-board storage, as well as circuits for monitoring processor power consumption.
  • SensForge can be connected to IgnisCore, featuring additional microphone, radar, motion, and temperature sensors, low-power Bluetooth connectivity, as well as expansion interfaces. It supports the use of real sensor inputs for prototype development.

These two boards can help developers explore the capabilities of Pulsar, utilize acoustic and motion data to evaluate applications, and assess power consumption during development and design. For researchers and academic teams, this provides a platform that enables them to go beyond simulation and run and evaluate their own applications on physical neuromorphic hardware.

Developers can register at developer.innatera.com to access Innatera SDK and related resources, and can purchase Pulsar for hardware evaluation through DigiKey. The availability of Pulsar depends on regional supply conditions.

About Innatera

Innatera enables the direct processing of sensor data from the source as soon as it is captured. Founded in 2018, this company is a spin-off of Delft University of Technology and develops neuromorphic processors that mimic the way the brain processes sensory data. With a completely new computing architecture that is much more efficient than traditional technologies, their chips can achieve breakthrough physical AI capabilities even in devices powered by small batteries. The technology of Innatera makes intelligence ubiquitous, thereby creating a smarter, safer, and cleaner world.

Innatera indicates that the company has raised 55 million euros from leading European deep-tech investors, and with its remarkable capital efficiency, its goal is to equip 1 billion sensors with intelligent capabilities by 2030.

According to sources, under the US restrictions on China, Chinese AI laboratories have turned to Europe in search of NVIDIA Blackwell chip computing power during the dark times.
According to reports cited by CNBC from informed sources, after the White House accused China of remotely obtaining advanced NVIDIA chips from East Asia, a Chinese artificial intelligence laboratory, known as "The Dark Side of the Moon," sought to rent computing power equipped with the NVIDIA Blackwell system through European data centers this year. The reports indicate that the discussions involved 8,000 or more Blackwell GPU clusters hosted in Europe, and the United States is also pushing to include remote access to overseas clouds within its export control regulations.
