Columbus, Ohio, November 4, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Vertiv Holdings Co. ( NYSE : VRT ), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure, today announced a three-year strategic agreement with Infineon Technologies AG ( FSE : IFX / OTCQX : IFNNY ) to deepen their long-term collaboration and support the long-term reliable access and supply of critical silicon ( Si ) and silicon carbide ( SiC ) power semiconductors.
This strategic agreement supports the reliability of continuous supply and on-time delivery, as Vertiv is expanding its production capacity to meet the growing demand for critical digital infrastructure. Semiconductor components play an important role in Vertiv's power product portfolio, which includes the next generation of 800 VDC power systems to support the evolving power requirements of AI infrastructure.
This agreement expands the decades-long partnership between the two companies. Infineon's components will be produced globally and integrated into the products of Vertiv, serving data centers, communication networks, as well as commercial and industrial applications around the world.
Strengthen cooperation on key power infrastructure
As Vertiv expands to meet the growing demand for critical power infrastructure, obtaining high-quality, reliable power semiconductors remains crucial for ensuring production continuity. These components, integrated into the Vertiv power supply systems, are essential for the conversion, management, and distribution of electricity.
This agreement provides Vertiv with higher supply visibility and predictability over a period of three years. It is also part of Vertiv's broader multi-supplier strategy, aimed at enhancing supply chain resilience and supporting the reliable execution of its global manufacturing operations.
Why Choose Infineon
The reason for choosing Infineon is that it possesses technical capabilities in Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs), silicon, and silicon carbide technologies. Additionally, Infineon has a good track record in global manufacturing capabilities and quality. Furthermore, the two companies will continue to coordinate their technical and product roadmaps to support the ever-changing needs of the power infrastructure industry.
"The rapid evolution of AI is reshaping the power requirements of data centers. Our customers need infrastructure partners who can foresee the next steps in change," said Frieda He, Chief Procurement Officer at Vertiv. "This agreement enhances our ability to deliver for our customers today, and it also supports the new generation of power architectures required by AI and other critical applications. By aligning our technology roadmap with Infineon and ensuring access to key power semiconductors, we are taking another proactive step to enable our customers to expand with greater confidence."
"The agreement with Vertiv reflects our joint commitment to supporting the evolving needs of critical power infrastructure," said Andreas Weisl, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer of Infineon's Industrial and Infrastructure Business. "With our comprehensive product portfolio and manufacturing capabilities, we are able to provide Vertiv with the advanced power semiconductor technologies required to support their continuous innovation and growth."
