XRP Message: The funding provided by Ripple to Fairshake conflicts with the $4 million donation Sherrod Brown received in support.

According to crypto commentator Scott Melker, divisions emerged within the crypto industry during one of the most closely watched campaigns in the U.S. midterms on Tuesday.

Melker indicates that Ripple is one of the largest donors to Fairshake. Fairshake is a super political action committee in the crypto industry that is investing a large amount of money in an attempt to defeat Sherrod Brown.

Meanwhile, Melker stated that Ripple, co-founder with Chris Larsen, has donated $4 million to support Brown, and has also personally invested an additional $22.5 million, most of which has been used to support Democrats.

He pointed out that the political stance of Larsen is not limited to cryptocurrency issues alone.

Melker also indicates that in order to promote more favorable regulatory rules, the crypto industry has invested over 200 million US dollars in this mid-term election, of which Fairshake accounts for approximately 154 million US dollars.

Melker believes that, regardless of the outcome, Congress is very likely to end up in a deadlock, and the market has already taken this outcome into account in advance.

BTIG Chief Technical Strategist Jonathan Krinsky stated in the weekly report that despite the significant decline in the NASDAQ 100 and semiconductor stocks, VIX still did not close above 20, indicating that there are no real bottom signals in the market yet. He believes that the three key conditions—emotional factors, widespread panic selling, and stabilization of the credit market—have not yet occurred, so the semiconductor and AI sectors may continue to face pressure.
