Simplify complex tests while reducing reliance on manual scripts and specialized knowledge.

Chandler, Arizona, USA, October 29th / PRNewswire / -- VIAVI Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq ticker: VIAV) announced the integration of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server framework into its NITRO ® AI product portfolio, enabling engineers to configure, run, and analyze tests through natural language prompts. This framework can be integrated with VIAVI TestCenter (network performance testing), CyberFlood (security and application performance testing), as well as TeraVM (secure access/ ZTNA testing) platforms.

Traditional laboratory automation requires engineers to manually configure scripts and maintain connections within an ever-expanding ecosystem of testing and measurement tools. As networks and security architectures evolve at an unprecedented pace, manual test configuration and automation are becoming increasingly difficult to scale. As AI proxies and proxy-based workflows become part of network and security operations, testing infrastructure must also be capable of participating in workflows driven by AI.

The award-winning MCP server framework from VIAVI simplifies the interaction between infrastructure testing tools and AI clients, while reducing reliance on graphical interfaces, scripts, or API. This framework makes testing functions available in the form of standardized tools, which can be discovered and executed by AI agents through conversational commands. By converting natural language requests into testing actions, the MCP server framework shifts the focus from requiring deep expertise in products, testing, and scripting to a workflow that verifies complex testing environments based on intent and results.

The MCP server framework includes an autonomous error correction loop that can detect and automatically fix configuration errors in testing tools. At the same time, key points during the testing process retain manual review checkpoints to maintain supervision and secure operations. The structured AI workflow provides the necessary context to enhance reliability, while real-time data allows for adjustments as results become available.

VIAVI, the Senior Director of Security Product Management, stated: "The pace of evolution in network infrastructure is faster than the supply of professionals capable of verifying it, therefore verification must become AI native. MCP The server framework helps to bridge this gap by reducing test preparation time and lowering operational costs, while also enabling a wider range of engineers to perform complex verifications."
