Memorandum of Understanding to advance the power and energy solution layout required for the rapid and responsible growth of DayOne within the region

Singapore, October 29, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- The global digital infrastructure platform headquartered in Singapore, DayOne Data Centers (referred to as “DayOne”), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Sembcorp Utilities (Sembcorp Utilities, referred to as “Sembcorp”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries. Both parties will explore integrating power and energy solutions into DayOne's data center development projects to support its continued growth in Asia.

According to this memorandum of understanding, DayOne and Shengke will evaluate solutions in multiple areas, including on-site power infrastructure and power generation, renewable energy supply, as well as operation and maintenance services.

This collaboration supports DayOne's "Power on Board" ( Bring Your Own Power ) initiative. This plan incorporates power planning at the earliest stages of data center development to identify and secure suitable energy solutions. DayOne indicates that this approach is aimed at reducing execution risks, addressing the increasingly tight power market, and providing greater certainty as customers expand their operations.

DayOne CEO Jamie Khoo stated: "Expanding digital infrastructure means considering the energy pathways to power it from the very beginning. Our approach is to secure key resources as early as possible—including electricity, land, water, and connectivity—so that we can advance implementation quickly while maintaining long-term responsible development. Collaborating with Shengke gives us the opportunity to explore integrated data center, power, and energy solutions as we continue to expand our regional business."

Koh Chiap Khiong, President and CEO of Shengke Gas and Related Services, stated: "To power AI, it is essential that energy infrastructure and digital infrastructure grow in tandem. By collaborating at an early stage in the development of the DayOne project, we can explore energy solutions that support its evolving needs and its continuous growth in Asia. Our common goal is to help build the energy foundation required to support the rapid growth of AI and digital infrastructure in this region."

DayOne and Shengke Plan jointly evaluate the feasibility, business cases, and potential implementation paths of energy solutions related to the projects agreed upon by both parties. The framework allows for exploration in areas including: reliable and cost-competitive power solutions, power production and electrical infrastructure, fuel supply and storage, renewable energy solutions, as well as related technologies and operational services.

DayOne indicates that this Memorandum of Understanding is established on the basis of its existing electricity and energy initiatives. The company's goal is to achieve 100% use of renewable energy by 2030, provided that market conditions permit.

In Singapore, DayOne has signed a power purchase agreement ( PPA ) with Singtel for its upcoming SG1 data center, the operation of which will be fully powered by renewable energy. In Malaysia, DayOne announced in June 2026 that it had signed a renewable energy supply agreement, which, under the country's Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Program ( CRESS ), covers approximately 1.5GWp of solar power capacity and 2.2GWh of battery storage. In Thailand, DayOne has signed a power purchase agreement to supply renewable energy to the data center in the Chonburi Technology Park.

DayOne indicates that through these measures, the company hopes to transform one of the biggest constraints faced by the industry into a driving force for growth, giving customers more confidence that the required production capacity can be delivered quickly at the time and place they need it.
