VanEck has launched its subsidiary Wealth Builder ETF, with the code WBMO. In addition to stocks, bonds, and physical assets, this fund also includes a Bitcoin exposure, with a net annual fee rate of 0.26%.

- WBMO consolidates global stock, bond, physical assets, and indirect Bitcoin exposures into one actively managed fund.

A Cayman subsidiary holds a portion of the investments, typically limiting its asset proportion to 25% at the end of each quarter.

The fee reduction has lowered the annual fee rate of this fund from 0.33% to 0.26%.

- Another fund, NODE, held 16.8% of Bitcoin at the end of September ETP open position.

VanEck announced the launch of this fund on October 27th, stating that WBMO is an actively managed portfolio that integrates various asset classes into a single holding. According to the company's announcement, the fund obtains exposure to cryptocurrencies through products traded on digital asset exchanges and does not directly invest in digital assets.

The management company stated that as of September 30, the scale of assets it managed amounted to 244.1 billion US dollars, covering mutual funds, ETF, and institutional accounts.

VanEck integrates its Wealth Builder strategy into a ETF.

WBMO is built on the company's existing Wealth Builder model portfolio. Previously, this investment method was provided to financial advisors through third-party wealth management platforms, but now it is made available to the public in the form of ETF. VanEck is responsible for selecting underlying investments, managing the portfolio configuration, and rebalancing it.

The issuance announcement states that this is an open architecture that utilizes both VanEck's own funds and third-party ETF. Its investment portfolio combines global stocks and fixed-income assets with physical assets including gold, while also targeting long-term investment themes such as technological transformation, fiscal trends, and inflation trends.

Portfolio Manager and Head of Multi-Asset Solutions, David Schassler, stated in the announcement: "Our Wealth Builder strategy brings together what we believe are the asset classes that are most likely to perform well over the next decade, and we manage how they work together in a disciplined manner."

Bitcoin exposure is achieved through underlying investment products.

The prospectus dated October 14 lists NYSE Arca as WBMO's main listing exchange in the United States, and identifies long-term capital appreciation and current income as its investment objectives.

A portion of the investment will be held through a wholly-owned subsidiary in the Cayman Islands. According to the filing documents, this subsidiary typically provides exposure to digital assets, commodities, and related instruments through ETP, and is subject to federal tax laws. The fund's investment in this subsidiary is usually limited to no more than 25% of the total assets at the end of each fiscal quarter.

File description: This subsidiary is restricted from covering multiple investment categories and does not set a 25% target for Bitcoin. The portfolio configuration depends on macroeconomic analysis, capital market expectations, as well as assessments of the underlying product strategies, liquidity, fees, and risk-adjusted returns.

WBMO does not directly invest in futures, options, or swaps, but its underlying ETP may use derivatives, according to the prospectus.

The fee table shows that the management fee is 0.15%, and the expected fund fees are 0.18%, totaling a total fee rate of 0.33%. A reduction of 0.07% brings the net fee rate down to 0.26%. The advisor will be exempted from the management fees corresponding to the fees obtained from the underlying funds by themselves or their related parties.

VanEck increased its Bitcoin holdings in another NODE fund.

Other actively managed products under VanEck have previously combined traditional securities with investments related to cryptocurrencies. As previously reported by crypto.news, the NODE fund launched by VanEck in May 2025 targets blockchain-related enterprises, including mining companies, exchanges, data centers, and fintech companies that utilize digital asset technologies.

NODE's initial strategy was to select 30 to 60 companies from over 130 firms. Its issuance materials also mentioned obtaining indirect exposure to cryptocurrencies through Cayman Islands subsidiaries, while investing in listed companies as well.

In the comment from September 2026 with the identifier NODE published on October 6th, VanEck indicated that the exposure to Bitcoin ETP had risen from around 7% at the end of June to 16.8% by the end of September. The total exposure to various cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum, Solana, Zcash, and Hyperliquid, reached 22.1%. The aforementioned data describes the investment portfolio of NODE, not the configuration of WBMO.

In September, it was commented that the correlation coefficient between NODE and Bitcoin was 0.70, which is higher than the 0.42 in August, and this change was attributed to its larger coin ETP configuration. The management stated that the average correlation coefficient between their mining holdings and Bitcoin from the beginning of the year to date is 0.46.

The same comment also stated that the team prefers spot ETP when increasing their exposure to various cryptocurrencies, and continues to underweight digital asset treasury companies due to the leverage and dilution risks present in their financing structures.

Earlier on, a review of the research on VanEck Bitcoin on August 19th showed that among the 12 indicators being tracked, 8 were in a "surrender signal" state. Over the past three months, all 12 indicators had entered this surrender zone at some point. The company's cyclical analysis suggested that a possible accumulation period could be between September and November, but no specific bottom date was provided.

US Bitcoin funds experienced mixed capital inflows in October.

Earlier trading days in October saw capital outflows. A report on October 22 indicated that from October 12 to 16, Bitcoin funds saw an outflow of $228.4 million, following an outflow of $678.9 million from October 5 to 9.

On October 21st, BlackRock’s IBIT received $235 million in inflows, while Fidelity’s FBTC attracted $212.7 million in inflows. The same data also shows that Grayscale’s GBTC and Bitcoin Mini Trust recorded inflows of $32.6 million and $8.2 million respectively.

In other products of VanEck, a report dated October 15th detailed the company's withdrawal of its proposed request for Lido Staked Ethereum ETF. A submission dated October 14th stated that the registration was never effective, and no shares were issued or sold.

This proposed Ethereum product was originally intended to track benchmarks developed by MarketVector, a company associated with VanEck, and to track stETH. Its prospectus lists verifier penalties, smart contract failures, and liquidity as investment risks.

The fund was initially submitted on October 16, 2025, with the original plan to hold stETH – that is, the tokens corresponding to the Ethereum deposited through Lido – and to accumulate applicable staking rewards. The withdrawal request for VanEck did not provide a detailed explanation for abandoning this product, nor did it mention any alternative products.
