Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, commonly referred to as OCI, typically operates in facilities rented by Oracle. CNBC has contacted Oracle for a comment.

TikTok US entities to localize algorithm training

TikTok USDS Joint Venture was established in 2026 in compliance with the executive order issued by U.S. President Donald Trump, which required TikTok to separate its U.S. operations from its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.

In January this year, TikTok stated that it would "retrain, test, and update" its core recommendation algorithm based on data from American users. The company mentioned at the time that its recommendation algorithm would be "safely deployed in Oracle's American cloud environment." This recommendation algorithm is built on machine learning.

TikTok There are three management investors in the US entity, namely Silver Lake, Oracle, and MGX, each holding 15% of the shares. Michael Dell's investment institution, Dell Family Office, is also an investor. ByteDance retains a 19.9% stake in this new entity.
