Jay Goldberg maintains a “sell” rating on NVIDIA, with a target price of $180, which is about 15% lower than the closing price of $212 on Thursday, according to a report by Barron.
On Thursday, NVIDIA's stock price fell by 4.4% due to renewed concerns about market spending on artificial intelligence; subsequently, the stock rose by 1.3% in pre-market trading on Friday.
Goldberg indicates that NVIDIA should continue to record record-breaking sales in the short term, but it faces increasing competition. He believes that the company's heavy use of financing transactions is a response to this pressure.
Seaport indicates that the planned capacity for data centers next year is about 55 gigawatts, but limitations in labor force, turbines, and the power grid may limit the actual construction scale to around 30 gigawatts.
Goldberg also pointed out that NVIDIA has supply chain commitments amounting to approximately $250 billion, as well as a financing plan of $500 billion, which could ultimately grow to $1 trillion in scale.
