China's benchmark stock index, the CSI 300, has fallen 20% from its June high and entered a bear market zone. LSEG data shows that the index has been declining for 10 consecutive weeks, with another 2.6% drop this week so far, reflecting the ongoing pressure on China's stock market. Market participants say that the Chinese economy is still dealing with the aftereffects of overcapacity and excessive investment, with weak corporate profit growth, sluggish consumer demand, and a depressed real estate market continuing to drag down the market.

China's benchmark stock index, the CSI 300, has entered a bear market, having fallen by 20% from its June high, indicating that the long-term selling pressure in the Chinese stock market has deepened further.

According to LSEG data, the CSI 300 index, which tracks the 300 largest market capitalization stocks in the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets, has been declining for 10 consecutive weeks. As of this week, it has accumulated a decrease of 2.6%, highlighting the ongoing pressure on the Chinese stock market.

Pella Funds Chairman and Chief Investment Officer Jordan Cvetanovski stated that the Chinese stock market still faces structural challenges, especially at a time when this world's second-largest economy is striving to cope with the consequences of years of overcapacity and excessive investment.

Cvetanovski to CNBC said: "I believe that China is indeed making efforts to control the difficulties brought about by past overcapacity expansion and other issues." He also pointed out that even in industries with global competitiveness such as batteries, companies face challenges – however, he still believes that there are some selective opportunities in this field for China.

Chinese companies have been hit by declining profit growth, with fierce competition eroding profit margins, even prompting government intervention. In September, Chinese industrial enterprises recorded the weakest profit growth rate of the year so far.

The world's second-largest economy recorded its slowest growth rate in over three years in the second quarter, dragged down by years of sluggishness in the real estate industry and continuously weak consumer demand.

Why has the price of Bitcoin fallen today?
Bitcoin fell by about $1,500 in 60 minutes on Thursday, dropping below $83,000, and during the same period, more than $70 million in leveraged long positions were liquidated. The gains from the previous day had cleared out a liquidity backlog around $84,400, and market sentiment then turned significantly bullish. Although spot buying remains strong, the article suggests that a immediate collapse is unlikely in the short term. However, prices may first retest the lower fair value gap and support area before launching a final push towards around $85,500, which could become a distribution zone, after which they might fall again.

The United States has ordered non-essential government employees and their families stationed in Saudi Arabia to leave the country due to the escalation of attacks by Houthi militants against Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, according to a report by The New York Times citing U.S. officials, the U.S. military and Israeli forces have devised a new plan to strike Iran after the mid-term elections next month, with potential targets including Iran's energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, as well as missile and drone depots.
