Public sector employees call on the university system to fulfill its contracts

San Diego, October 20, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- On October 21 (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m., its members will hold a rally to support thousands of employees within the California State University (CSU) system, according to Teamsters Local. The union claims that CSU has repeatedly engaged in anti-union activities, including malicious negotiations, and has failed to pay employees the salary increases guaranteed by their contracts.

This group, consisting of 1,100 administrative and technical staff members, approved a Teamsters contract in 2024 and has since been pushing for the university system to fulfill its obligations, including paying the members their deserved salary increases. Teamsters calls on CSU to keep their promises and respect the contract agreed upon by both parties.
