XDC Tokens will be available for trading on Robinhood Crypto to eligible American customers starting from today, bringing a blockchain platform designed for trade finance and institutional settlements into the sight of mainstream retail users.
New York, October 14, 2026 – Robinhood Crypto has integrated support for XDC Network, allowing eligible retail customers in the United States to trade XDC tokens on its platform starting today. This launch makes XDC – the native token of a Layer-1 blockchain designed for trade finance, payments, and tokenization of real-world assets – accessible to 2.3 million users on the Robinhood platform.
"We created XDC to serve that part of the financial system that most people cannot see, namely the payments, documents, and settlements that maintain the operation of global trade," said Ritesh Kakkad, co-founder of XDC Network. "Trade finance has proven the capability of this network. By bringing it to retail users, we have expanded the number of people who can access this infrastructure without changing its original purpose. The same network that institutions use for cross-border value transfers is now also reaching ordinary users."
Prior to this, XDC was mainly used by institutions, including banks, trade financial service providers, tokenization platforms, and developers. Now, it is also available for ordinary traders in the United States to trade on Robinhood, on par with Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Before this launch, the institutional business of this network has been growing steadily. Deutsche Telekom, SBI Holdings, NTT DOCOMO Global, and Clear Street are all among the companies that operate verification nodes on XDC.
This launch also follows a series of collaborations with various organizations on that network. Deutsche Telekom, SBI Holdings, NTT DOCOMO Global, Clear Street, and Taurus are all among the validators that help to operate and ensure the security of the XDC network. In terms of payments, XDC has completed integration with Bridge (a company under Stripe), joining Mastercard's Crypto Partner Program network, and providing support for the USDC corporate cards of OrbitX, enabling companies to use their digital balances for daily expenses.
Trade finance rarely makes headlines, but the World Trade Organization estimates that up to 80% of global trade relies on it. Access to such financing is not equal for all. The Asian Development Bank states that there is a gap of about $2.5 trillion between the financing applications made by businesses and the actual approvals granted by banks, with small and medium-sized exporters being the most frequently rejected. Part of the reason for this is that a large portion of this process still relies on paper documents. XDC Network moves trade documents and payments onto the blockchain to shorten settlement times and reduce costs. Its compatibility with ISO 20022 allows it to connect with the message systems already in use by banks.
Not all crypto assets are tradable in every state of the United States. Trading digital assets involves significant risks, including the risk of substantial losses. Access to Robinhood is subject to its terms and eligibility requirements. This announcement is for informational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice.
