DXC Technology ( NYSE : DXC ) announced on Tuesday a partnership with LangChain, the latter being the developer of the open-source LangGraph agent framework and the LangSmith agent engineering platform. Both parties will promote governed Agentic AI for mission-critical enterprise IT environments.

This collaboration is based on the use of DXC for LangGraph. DXC indicates that its intelligent orchestration platform and operational model DXC OASIS for critical mission IT operations have adopted LangGraph runtime, and DXC is still authorized to use LangSmith to support the development, evaluation, and observability of OASIS intelligents. DXC states that OASIS has been put into production and is being expanded to cover 125 customer environments in regulated industries and multiple regions. DXC indicates that these capabilities help to build, orchestrate, evaluate, and continuously improve AI intelligents, while also applying the enterprise context, governance, human supervision, and continuous assurance required by key technical environments.

Introduce Agentic AI into critical task operations and maintenance

Through this collaboration, DXC is utilizing LangGraph and LangSmith to advance the construction, orchestration, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the OASIS agent. DXC indicates that LangGraph provides an open-source framework for agent orchestration, including capabilities such as delegation, state management, and human-in-the-loop workflows; LangSmith offers tools for agent development, evaluation, and observability.

According to DXC, OASIS has integrated these capabilities into the enterprise IT operations, enabling agents to respond to operational events, investigate issues in parallel, leverage specialized capabilities across technical domains, and involve personnel in the process when judgment or approval is required. As a result, human experts can focus on making more value-added decisions, while agents provide the capacity and speed needed to handle large-scale operational problems. DXC indicates that in specific production use cases, file system events that used to take 53 to 90 minutes to resolve can now be solved in 3 to 6 minutes; database performance issues have been reduced from 2 to 3 hours to 5 to 12 minutes; and complex problem management, which previously took 2 to 6 days, is now completed in 8 to 10 minutes.

DXC, President of Global Infrastructure Services, stated: "Agentic AI has the potential to fundamentally change the way the most critical technologies for business operations are used, but models alone are not enough. In over 500 measurement use cases, OASIS reduced average resolution times by 95%, and when verified against the judgments of senior engineers, the diagnostic accuracy rate reached 92% or higher. By collaborating with LangChain, we have combined advanced agent technology, operational experience, and governance to safely put AI agents into use on a corporate scale."

Expand Agentic AI under governance and human supervision.

One of the key focuses of this collaboration is to help enterprises expand the use of the AI agent while maintaining proper governance and human oversight. DXC indicates that, with the help of LangChain technology, OASIS can now allow the agent to operate within established permissions while still maintaining the control required in critical task environments. The system will evaluate actions based on factors such as reversibility, impact, verifiability, and the agent's past performance. Sensitive operations can be paused before execution to await manual approval; at the same time, the agent's decisions, tool calls, and results will all be tracked in order to understand how it operates.

DXC also indicates that OASIS will anchor the agent within its specific corporate environment. The agent can access system-specific and customer-specific information, DXC operational expertise, as well as supplier documentation, to aid in reasoning based on the context and requirements of each customer's environment, rather than relying solely on general model knowledge. DXC states that by combining corporate context with clear governance policies and human oversight, OASIS organizations are able to expand the role of AI agents in production environments while maintaining accountability and control.

LangChain Chief Operating Officer Julia Schottenstein stated: "Agents are transforming the application layer of every enterprise, and leading companies are taking control of their own agent stacks. This means adjusting the supporting infrastructure according to their own business needs, building agents on proprietary contexts, and establishing governance and continuous improvement loops to ensure that agents can run reliably in production environments. We are delighted to bring this model to the operations of critical enterprises through our collaboration with DXC."

Open path for enterprises Agentic AI

Both parties stated that this collaboration also supports an open Agentic AI approach, aimed at providing flexibility and control for enterprises as AI technology evolves. OASIS does not rely on a single model and supports interoperability with third-party systems as well as those owned by customers, enabling organizations to choose different models based on requirements such as quality, cost, latency, and privacy for various workloads. OASIS is also designed to be continuously improved in operation, utilizing insights gained from the execution of agents to enhance performance, and gradually integrating experiences from individual scenarios into broader systems.

DXC indicates that deployment can cover public clouds, private clouds, dedicated environments, and sovereign environments without the need to redesign the underlying architecture. Customers retain control over their data, workflows, and operational capabilities built on the platform, while maintaining flexibility between models, infrastructure, and deployment environments.

DXC and LangChain detail this approach in a new technical white paper titled "DXC OASIS : The Harness for Mission - Critical IT Operations", which explores how organizations can implement AI intelligents in critical task environments while maintaining governance, accountability, and human oversight.
