ROCHESTER, N.Y. On October 12th / PRNewswire / -- Vuzix ® Corporation (Nasdaq ticker: VUZI) is a supplier of AI driver smart glasses, waveguides, and advanced optical components. The company announced today that it will participate in the 2026 OCP Global Summit from October 12th to 15th in San Jose, California; it will also attend the PECC Summit held on October 20th to 21st in Sunnyvale, California. Vuzix will arrange meetings at the summit to introduce its Vuzix Causeway ™ Waveguide Optical Interconnection Evaluation Platform and discuss evaluation opportunities with AI companies in the fields of data centers, semiconductors, photonics, and advanced packaging.

Vuzix Causeway applies proprietary waveguide technology to route thousands of parallel optical channels on a compact substrate, providing a new approach for high-density optical connections in co-packaged optics (CPO), near-packaged optics (NPO), and AI computing. The current evaluation platform has demonstrated the implementation of 19,200 parallel optical channels over a path of approximately 30 millimeters. Future communication applications are expected to support total bandwidths in the multi-terabit range, but this depends on the performance of the light sources, detectors, and system integration. The Vuzix Causeway waveguide structure can be customized according to the wavelength of the light source and the method of illumination, making it suitable for custom architectures that use microLED or VCSEL light sources.

Vuzix provides Vuzix Causeway evaluation units to qualified industry partners, enabling them to characterize optical performance and assess integration requirements. Engineers can evaluate optical loss, crosstalk, channel density, as well as coupling and alignment. These evaluations are intended to provide a reference for potential custom optical designs and future manufacturing opportunities, leveraging Vuzix's existing waveguide design and domestic manufacturing capabilities in the United States.

Vuzix, President and CEO, stated: "The AI infrastructure needs to transmit more data with higher efficiency and density. Vuzix Causeway provides an practical platform for industry partners to assess whether waveguide-based optical routing can meet these requirements. We have nearly 20 years of experience in waveguide development, custom optical design, and high-precision nanoimprint replication. Our goal is to help partners move from the assessment phase to custom optical interconnect designs that can be manufactured in our factory in Rochester, New York."

Those who are participating in OCP and wish to learn more about the Vuzix Causeway platform or discuss potential evaluation opportunities can contact Warren Russell ([email protected]) to arrange a meeting on Wednesday, October 14th, or Thursday, October 15th.

Following OCP, Vuzix will also participate in the PECC summit – the Optica + APC Photonic-Enabled Cloud Computing Summit, which takes place from October 20th to 21st at HPE Aspiration Dome in Sunnyvale, California. This event brings together leaders from various segments of the photonic supply chain to discuss AI and optical deployments in cloud infrastructure, including optical interconnection, packaging, manufacturing, as well as scaling challenges. Both events will provide opportunities for Vuzix to discuss the evaluation needs of partners and potential integration paths for Vuzix Causeway.
