Abstract
Strategy purchased 1,665 bitcoins between September 21 and September 27, spending 142.7 million US dollars.
This purchase has raised his Bitcoin holdings to a record 847,666 coins.
The company also repurchased $151.7 million of STRC preferred stocks.
Strategy has once again increased its holdings by 1,665 Bitcoins, pushing the company's Bitcoin reserves to a new high as it continues to balance Bitcoin purchases with preferred stock repurchases.
According to a document submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, the company purchased this batch of bitcoins at an average price of $85,681 per coin, for a total payment of $142.7 million. Its total holdings of bitcoins now amount to 847,666 coins, with a cumulative purchase cost of $63.95 billion, and an average cost of $75,437 per bitcoin.
Strategy posted on a social media platform stating: " Strategy has purchased 1,665 BTC and repurchased $152 million worth of STRC. As of September 27, 2026, we hold 847,666 BTC and $6.02 billion in US dollar assets. $ MSTR"
According to BitcoinTreasuries data, this purchase enabled Strategy to surpass its previous record of 847,363 bitcoins reported on June 22. Thereafter, the company sold bitcoins during the summer and resumed purchasing in August.
Strategy's STRC repurchase
As the company attempts to take advantage of the opportunity where the trading price of preferred stocks is lower than their par value, Strategy has currently invested hundreds of millions of dollars in repurchasing STRC. The latest documents indicate that there are still 723.5 million dollars available under its digital credit securities repurchase program.
Strategy previously stated that STRC repurchases were part of its broader capital allocation strategy. Last week, the company proposed to implement daily dividend payments on its preferred stocks, including STRF, STRC, SREK, and STRD, with the aim of reducing volatility.
$6.02 billion in assets
Strategy also disclosed that as of September 27, the company held US$6.02 billion in assets.
According to the 8-K filing, this figure includes $5.02 billion in "USD reserves" and $1 billion in "USD cash." The USD reserves are a dedicated pool of funds maintained for paying preferred stock dividends and debt interest; the USD cash, on the other hand, is an independent fund pool established last month that can be used for purchasing Bitcoin, increasing reserves, and for other capital management purposes.
This cash position of Strategy provides another source of capital when managing its Bitcoin holdings, preferred stock obligations, and common stock issuance.
The company previously stated that its capital framework allows it to sell up to $1.25 billion in Bitcoin to replenish its dollar reserves, pay preferred stock dividends and interest expenses, as well as to repurchase MSTR or its preferred securities.
