Nasdaq-listed asset management company Strive disclosed that between September 8 and 11, the company purchased 469 bitcoins, investing a total of $36.6 million, increasing its holdings to 25,000 bitcoins. According to the 8-K filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 14, the average purchase price for these bitcoins was $77,954 each.

All of this additional shareholding comes from preferred stocks.

The company stated that all the funds for this round of coin purchases come from SATA. SATA is a variable-rate Class A perpetual preferred stock of Strive. CEO Matt Cole mentioned on social media that the current outstanding nominal value of this instrument has exceeded $1 billion, which is higher than the $999 million from a week ago.

Cole also mentioned that the company's 'leverage ratio' has risen to 53.5%. According to the definition of Strive, this indicator is the ratio of the nominal size of preferred stock and debt to the net asset value of Bitcoin. Calculated in this manner, for every $100 worth of Bitcoin held by the company, there is approximately $53.5 worth of preferred stock obligations.

The buying pace has slowed down compared to the previous week.

Compared to the previous week, the increase in holdings of Strive has significantly slowed down. From August 31st to September 4th, the company purchased 1,375 bitcoins, investing approximately 109 million US dollars, with an average purchase price of 79,281 US dollars per bitcoin.

At that time, the funding did not come entirely from preferred stocks; rather, it was supported jointly by SATA and common stocks, with a ratio of about 70 to 30. In comparison, the scale of the latest round of purchases was less than one-third of that of the previous week.

The company's position remains behind the top four.

According to the statistics from Bitcoin Treasuries, Strive currently ranks fifth in the list of publicly traded companies' Bitcoin holdings, following Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA Holdings.

Currently, Twenty One Capital holds 43,514 Bitcoins, which is 18,515 more than Strive. Assuming there are 15 weeks left this year, if Strive wants to catch up to this amount by the end of 2026, they will need to add an average of about 1,234 Bitcoins per week thereafter.

  • Quantity purchased this time: 469 BTC
  • Investment amount this time: $36.6 million
  • Latest total position: 25,000 BTC

Additional information:Based on the current price mentioned in the text, the current market value of Strive's Bitcoin holdings is approximately 1.95 billion US dollars.
