U.S. crypto ETF capital flows showed divergence this week. From September 8th to 11th, due to the Labor Day holiday, there were only four trading days in the U.S. market. Spot Bitcoin ETF saw net outflows for four consecutive days; however, Ethereum ETF saw a significant inflow on Friday, which ultimately led to a net inflow for the entire week.

Bitcoin ETF continues to flow out continuously

According to Farside Investors data, Bitcoin ETF saw a net outflow of $462.7 million over four trading days, with Thursday boasting the largest outflow at $282.7 million. In the week prior, such products recorded a net inflow of $986.7 million, and this week they lost back some of that amount.

  • On Tuesday, there was a net outflow of $46.6 million.
  • Net outflow of $120.2 million on Wednesday
  • On Thursday, there was a net outflow of $282.7 million, and on Friday, a net outflow of $13.2 million.

Looking at individual products, BlackRock IBIT saw a net outflow of $52.5 million for the week, Fidelity FBTC had a net outflow of $50.7 million, and VanEck's HODL experienced a net outflow of $13.1 million. Morgan Stanley's MSBT recorded a net inflow of $19.7 million against the trend, while Bitwise's BITB had a slight net inflow of $1.9 million.

Ethereum reversed its performance for the week on Friday

Ethereum ETF was still in a net outflow state before Friday, but on that day it recorded a capital inflow of $216.4 million, which turned the overall turnover into a net inflow of $196.9 million. In the three days prior to that, there was a net outflow of $24.3 million on Tuesday, a net inflow of $34.7 million on Wednesday, and another net outflow of $29.9 million on Thursday.

BlackRock ETHA was the main source of inflows, attracting $148.8 million on Friday alone, with a net inflow of $139.9 million for the entire week. BlackRock's pledged Ethereum fund ETHB had a net inflow of $55.1 million for the week. ETHW of Bitwise saw inflows of $29.1 million on Friday, and ETHV of VanEck had inflows of $3.7 million on the same day.

Relatively speaking, Fidelity FETH saw a net outflow of $25.2 million on Thursday, resulting in a weekly net outflow of $3.9 million; Grayscale ETHE had a weekly net outflow of $17.3 million. According to Farside statistics, Ethereum ETF saw a net inflow of $215.3 million last week, which is slightly lower this week, but still maintains a positive inflow.

Solana inflow, Hyperliquid outflow

Solana The fund had a net inflow of $9.7 million for the entire week, mainly due to a $11.2 million inflow on Wednesday, with slight outflows on the other three trading days. BSOL contributed the majority of this funds, with a weekly net inflow of $9.5 million.

The fund experienced net outflows over three trading days, with a total outflow of 26.5 million US dollars for the week. According to Farside data, there was an outflow of 13 million US dollars on Tuesday, 5.3 million US dollars on Wednesday, and 8.2 million US dollars on Friday; no net flow was recorded on Thursday.

Overall, the four types of ETF products tracked by Farside saw a total net outflow of $282.6 million this week. The divergence in funds between Bitcoin and Ethereum products indicates that institutional allocation directions are still being adjusted.
