Bitcoin Suisse announces the launch of an international reorganization, planning to cut up to 60 jobs in Switzerland and close its development site in Copenhagen. The company stated that software development and back-office operations will be increasingly centralized at overseas centers, and the consultation period for employees in Switzerland will last until September 20th.
Swiss job positions to be cut by up to half
According to a report by Reuters on September 11, Bitcoin Suisse has confirmed this layoff plan. The company has a total of 120 positions in Switzerland, and if the maximum number of layoffs is implemented, about half of these positions will be cut. The final number of layoffs will be determined after the consultation process is completed.
The business focus remains on Chug.
Bitcoin Suisse's headquarters are still located in Zug, Switzerland, and its wealth management business will continue to be centered there. The company stated that the goal of the reorganization is to transform itself from a primarily Swiss-based cryptocurrency company into a more international financial services institution.
Overseas operation centers continue to expand.
In addition to closing its Copenhagen site, the company also plans to establish a new operations center in Vietnam. Its current international footprint also includes locations in Bratislava, Abu Dhabi, Bermuda, and Liechtenstein. The company has not disclosed the specific location, timeline, or staffing scale of the new center in Vietnam.
